The Creative Process in Mia's world of Art and Healing ​

When life becomes stressful or overwhelming, and I'm unsure what's about to happen next, I pause and meditate. When emptiness is achieved and self-criticism released, I visualize a blank canvas waiting to come alive. Each brush stroke becomes an act in sacred time and space.

When oils stroke my canvas, realism appears effortlessly. But when watercolors cascade from rainbows, I go with the flow and formless images appear.

  

When a childlike world of fantasy and whimsy is awakened, my fabric designs take center stage. Each doll or pillow takes on a personality of it's own, hand-painted and embellished with love.

When I find myself doodling, pen and ink take control with the details in my life.

​When the world of chaos has me spiriing, I play with clay till someone from my unconscious grounds me in the moment as a sculpture that stares at me on my desk.​

​If anger or longing surfaces from past lives, my woodshop becomes a creative sanctuary. Three-dimensional portraits on wood emerge from their frame to heal all wounds.

But when found objects gather 'round my workspace waiting to be noticed, anything can happen! Overlapping traumas send messages through mixed media collage. 

And when archetypal images, or souls from the other side, reach out, psychic mediumship artwork is afoot. This unplanned phenomenon sparks endless possibilities.
