About Mia and the Creative Process
When life becomes stressful or overwhelming, and I'm unsure what's about to happen next, I pause and meditate. When emptiness is achieved and self-criticism released, I visualize a blank canvas waiting to come alive. Each brush stroke becomes a sacred act in sacred time and space.
When oil paints caress my canvas, a world of realism appears effortlessly. But when colors cascade down from rainbows, inspiration appears, and watercolors begin their journey. Formless images emerge, and I go with the flow.
When my childlike world of fantasy and whimsy awakens, fabric designs take center stage. My dolls and pillows are embellished with personality.
When pen and ink dance across my drawing board, details of my life want to surface, unconscious doodles take shape, and my pen is in control.
When I need grounding, I dig out some clay to play with till it forms a sculpture. Sometimes I wander around in my woodshop looking for ways to cut through my anger. Wahla! 3D portraits emerge.
But when found objects gather 'round my workspace waiting to be noticed, anything can happen. This unplanned phenomenon sparks endless possibilities. Overlapping traumas of my pain using a mixed-media collage to send a message.
And when Spirit, archetypal images, or souls from the other side unexpectedly appear in my energy field, "psychic mediumship artwork" is in the making, and I can't take the credit.
