The Creative Process

When life becomes stressful or overwhelming, and I'm unsure what's about to happen, I stop what I'm doing and meditate. When a calm mind is achieved and self-criticism is released,  I visualize a blank canvas waiting to come alive. Each brushstroke becomes an act in sacred time and space.

When oils stroke my canvas, realism effortlessly appears. But when watercolors cascade from rainbows, I go with the flow, and formless images blend.

  

When my childlike world of fantasy and whimsy awakens, fabric designs take center stage. Each pillow or cloth doll takes on a personality of its own. I hand-paint and embellish them with love.

When I find myself mindlessly doodling, Pen & ink go on their own journey. These 'tangled designs' become portrait sketches and greeting cards

​When chaos has me spiraling, I play with clay (earth) till I ground myself in the moment. It becomes a sculpture staring back at me on my desk.​

​If sadness from past lives surfaces, my woodshop is a creative sanctuary where 3-dimensional portraits on wood are born, seeming to emerge from their frame to heal my wounds.

But when found objects gather 'round my workspace waiting to be noticed, anything can happen!  Mixed media are collaged into powerful messages of peace. 

And when archetypal images, or souls from the other side, reach out, psychic mediumship artwork is afoot. This unplanned phenomenon sparks endless possibilities.
